Project Coordinator

First Steps Kent is an independent, public-private partnership that leads community efforts to strengthen and coordinate early childhood services in Kent County, Michigan. We are in search of a detail-oriented and service-focused Project Coordinator to provide support to the organization.

What your day will look like:

• Establish and build strong, trusting, cooperative relationships with early care providers.
• Identify and onboard participating providers and serve as a point of contact for all providers.
• Form partnerships with relevant organizations; work collaboratively with partners; maintains positive, professional relationships; and build consensus.
• Serve as a credible source of knowledge and information to early care providers.
• Evaluate provider baseline data and key challenges they might be experiencing.
• Ensure that providers can access and benefit from all services, resources, templates, and tools offered.
• Identify childcare business needs and connect providers to business supports and resources.
• Collect follow up data from the providers to ensure they are getting the full benefits from the shared services program.
• Collaborate with the Shared Services Project Manager to implement a Shared Service model for Kent County and identify a hub.
• Meet regularly with Kent Shared Services Leadership group.
• Research and identify opportunities for savings, program enhancements, and collaborations based on national research, initiatives, and best practices. 
• Serve as a spokesperson and promote the mission and values of the Shared Services project.
• Communicate regularly with local and statewide partners.

What we are looking for in a candidate:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree specializing in Public or Nonprofit Administration, Business, Communications, or Human Services.
• One (1) year of experience as a project coordinator in business development, coalition-building, community organizing, and/or systems development.
• One (1) year experience in non-profit, public relations, business, and/or communication campaign development and implementation. Early childhood related experience a plus.
• Bilingual preferred.
