The Health, Safety & Environment Specialist provides expertise in the development, implementation and management of effective
Safety, Health and Environment programs / systems. Routinely analyzes hazardous situations and identifies alternative courses of
action.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Assist with the development, documentation, improvement, and audit of site environmental, health and safety systems to assure
conformance and effectiveness.
- Determine plant environmental, safety, and health requirements and analyze for compatibility with corporate practices.
- Provides expertise in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental
programs / procedures
Performs audits and safety inspections of work environments, processes, and operations in compliance with government
regulations and industry standards
- Ensures all applicable registrations, permits, and licenses are in place and current;
- Lead activities in support of Kaizen, Safety Star Point Teams (Safety Committee), Emergency Response Teams, and other
project teams.
- Participates in developing and implementing training programs for employees
- Gathers data for the purpose of identifying, reducing, or eliminating sources of pollutants and / or hazards that affect the
work environment and health of the employees
Ensure that best practices, incidents, near misses, etc., are communicated between facilities following established
guidelines.
Assist with regulatory-required environmental reporting, including hazardous / residual waste, air emissions, wastewater,
and others
Working knowledge of industry safety, OSHA, EPA, and other state-specific agency regulations and environmental system
standards and their application to an industrial environment.
Ability to effectively communicate environmental, health, and safety concepts, plans, and technical data.

- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and
additional hours as necessary

Qualifications and Education Requirements :
- Education : Bachelor's Degree is REQUIRED (preferred in Environmental, Health, and Safety)
- Years of experience : minimum years of relevant Health, Safety, and Environment regulations / standards experience
- Required Skills :
o Professionally recognized safety or environmental certification (ASP, GSP, CSP, CIH, CHMM).
o RCRA Hazardous Waste Management training in accordance with CFR
o DOT training in accordance with CFR
o hour initial and -hour refresher training in accordance with CFR (HAZWOPER).
o ISO experience.
o Knowledge of SAP, Benchmark Gensuite, HumanTech and / or other EHS-related software.
o Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills to drive tasks to completion
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools

The pay range for this position is $K-$K yearly; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
