What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Vice President position at First Transit?
Transdev is currently hiring for an East Regional Vice President. Transdev is a leading provider of public transportation contracting and management services. We supplied precision, efficiency, innovation, and expertise to public and private transportation systems.
Job Purpose: The Regional Vice President develops and implements strategic and tactical objectives within the East region, which support the company’s vision and values and meet the critical performance indicators of the operating plan and customer service initiatives.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversees transit services that include traditional city and suburban fixed route services, commuter express services, Para-transit services, airport, corporate and university shuttles
- Establishes good relationships with all clients in the region and serves as corporate liaison.
- Ensures services are provided at a consistent level and in line with transit agency expectations and requirements
- Maintains quality service and customer satisfaction working with other region staff
- Responsible for strategic planning and execution of plan within the region
- Establishes and maintains open communication with the customers and managers within the region
- Coaches and mentors managers
- Coordinates the need for and the provision of corporate support staff
- Reviews budgets for the assigned locations and monitor their financial performance
- Develops new business opportunities, including renewals within assigned region, and work with proposal managers to prepare and submit proposals to renew existing business and win new business
- Develops opportunities to hire and develop new managers
- Establishes relationships with state and regional transit associations and participates in their activities
- Additional special projects and duties as assigned
- Performs additional duties as assigned by Senior Vice President
Minimum Education & Certifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Work Experience and Skills:
- 7 years - Operations management in Transit
- Labor relations
- Supervision/management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and train
- Strong analytic skills
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Persuasion and leadership skills
- Financial experience and organizational analysis
- Incumbents must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing systems/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone.
- Typical office environment, transit facilities, maintenance facilities, transit vehicles, airports
- Travel approximately 80% of the time.
