JOB SUMMARY:

• Specialize in cable, fiber-optic and other networks
• Install and maintain lines and cables used by local and long-distance services
• Use variety of equipment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install fiber optic cable, strand and associated hardware required to complete work orders.
• Maintain appropriate log book for installed fiber and work orders.
• Responsible for maintaining and acquiring all necessary material and equipment to complete the
• assigned work orders.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:

• Language Ability – Read and comprehend plans and prints, comprehend and respond to various correspondences, ability to present information one-on-one to customers/clients/employees
• Math Ability – Ability to add/subtract/multiply/divide all units of measure, ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Reasoning Ability – Carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to resolve problems with little to no assistance
• Physical Demands: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., frequent standing position, along with reaching out with arms. Occasional climb/balance/stoop/kneel crouch/ crawl is required with communication.
• Specific Eye Vision Requirement – Close Vision, Distance Vision, Depth Perception, Ability to Adjust Focus

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety Training, Driver/Operator Training
• Class B with Air Brake Endorsement, must not exceed allowable points as provided by insurance carrier
