Position Detail:

We are hiring Maintenance Rangers to join our Recreation team for this seasonal position in Northfield, MA.

TRAINING IS PROVIDED

This is a FULL-TIME TEMPORARY position from May 20-September 06, 2024

(start and end dates can be somewhat flexible)

Schedule: 5 days per week, including weekends (will have 2 days off per week)

Hours: 2 options: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm OR 11:00 am – 7:00 pm

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Recreation and Programming, the Maintenance Ranger will provide light maintenance, facility upkeep and customer support of the Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center in Northfield, MA.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Facilitate pleasant customer interactions and ensure customer satisfaction and safety at all times;
• Perform light maintenance including painting and repairs;
• Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of campgrounds including cleaning facilities and grounds;
• Provide customer service, explaining camping and area use policies;
• Perform safety training with customers;
• Issue rental canoes and kayaks, clean and load on trailer and storage rack;
• Operate pickup truck;
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned;
• Comply with FirstLight policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications / Skills

Physical Requirements

• Will be exposed to a variety of weather conditions such as rain and heat;
• Ability to be physically mobile and frequently stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch as well as sit for prolonged periods;
• Must be able to walk up and down flights of stairs, ladders, and ramps, balance, work on uneven surfaces, work in close quarters and carry up to 50 lbs.
