US Payroll Manager- Atlanta, GA

firstPRO360 is seeking a US Payroll Manager to join awesome company on a Direct Hire basis. This position will manage the entire payroll process (not people) and pays up to $90K,depending upon experience.

You can also work remotely the majority of the time, but local candidates are preferred as there will be quarterly meetings in office.

What you will be doing:
  • Own all US Payroll Processing activities: You will be primary owner of ensuring that 200 US employees are paid timely and accurately twice a month.
  • Specifically, this includes the following:
    • Tracking and documenting changes from prior pay periods
    • Updating payroll platform, Paylocity, for changes from prior pay periods, including:
      • New hires and terminations
      • Benefit elections
      • 401k election changes
      • Reviewing direct deposit updates
      • Comp changes
      • Commission Payments
      • PTO and Holidays
      • Ad hoc items
    • Preparing a review file prior to processing payroll and adding commentary on changes from prior pay periods
    • Reviewing hourly time cards for accuracy
    • Process ad hoc pay runs when needed
    • Manage our US Payroll Platform: Currently use Paylocity for US Payroll.
    • Own Payroll Tax and other Payroll Compliance responsibilities: You will own all of the following payroll related compliance requirements:
      • Payroll Taxes: Although Paylocity processes the actual payroll tax filings, you will work closely with Paylocity to ensure accurate and timely filings, register in new states where needed, etc.
      • Annual W-2 Process: You will own the annual W-2 process.
      • Annual 401k Compliance: You will own the annual 401k Compliance Requirements.
    • Coordination with People Ops: The Payroll team is a part of the Accounting team. This role requires frequent communication with the People Ops team to ensure alignment on items that impact payroll.
    • Own Payroll Inbox: Have a company wide payroll inbox. You will own management of this inbox, including responding to employee requests timely, keeping the inbox organized, and directing Canada and International requests to the Corporate Payroll Manager.
    • Process post-payroll responsibilities: Own all US post-payroll responsibilities, including submission of HSA, FSA, and 401K contributions, and more.
    • Problem Solve: This is a fast-paced environment – you will have plenty of opportunity to problem solve and take ownership of finding answers and solutions. Looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced, challenging environment!
    • Implement process improvements: Identify areas in need of improvement and take ownership in implementing process improvements!
    • Assist with reporting requests: Provide payroll related reports as needed, including month end headcount reports, annual worker’s comp audit reports, audit requests, and other ad hoc requests.

What we are looking for:

  • Someone really bright and sharp – who can thrive in a fast paced environment, problem solve, and take initiative
  • Someone with a high attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Evidence of growth within the same company on a resume (& accomplishments that stand out above the day to day responsibilities)
  • Minimum 4 years of full cycle, in-house payroll experience
  • Owning the process from end to end and touching every area of payroll – including hourly, salary, payroll taxes, benefits, 401k, managing employee requests, coordination with the Payroll platform, etc.
  • Small to medium sized company experience
  • Experience with Paylocity (a plus)
