About the Team
Virtus Group, LP’s Collateralized Loan Obligations and Financial Statement Preparation Services system provides clients with a suite of services that include specialized services throughout the entities’ collateral (CLO) lifecycle, including financial statement preparation.
The Virtus Accounting Team is responsible for the financial statement preparation. The team prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements for client funds based on the clients specified accounting elections. In addition, the team compiles related footnote disclosures necessary for year-end reporting.
What You Will Be Doing
- Serve as primary point of contact n delivering high levels of service and relationship management for CLO/institutional clients
- Oversee daily activity of assigned client relationships
- Prepare monthly and quarterly client financial statements and reports
- Generate GAAP reporting for CLO deals
- Record general ledger (GL) journal entries, prepare cash flow account reconciliations, and generate income and balance statements
- Analyze client financials and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Proactively manage CLO deals by understanding clients’ needs and deal documents
- Guarantee quality service levels, perform daily servicing activities, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Monitor deal transactions to ensure all cash, trades, and other deal activity are updated and recorded properly
- Support personnel at client institutions in day-to-day routines and financial processing
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
- Typically, 3 to 5 years’ experience with CLO/CDOs and investor accounting
- Client servicing experience and excellent interpersonal skills to build high levels of customer satisfaction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially with Excel (VLOOKUPS) in calculating cash flow, reconciliations, and reporting
- Working knowledge of GAAP reporting, financial statements, and investment accounting principles
- Detail-oriented with the ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple responsibilities with little to no supervision
Added Bonus If You Have
- Working knowledge of trust systems (CDO Suite or Solvas)
- Familiarity with waterfall calculations
