FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Database Administrator II in Durham, NC to provide database support services to application teams and Technology Services Group (TSG) operations teams including the Network Operations Center. Conduct database software installation, upgrade, patching, infrastructure management and creation and support of application databases. Provide detailed status reports on tasks and difficulties encountered. Escalate issues resulting in customer outage to TSG management and assess where changes or additional support may be warranted. Assist application groups with design development that meet current and future business requirements. Participate in logical design process of strategic projects and conduct physical design and implementation. Provide specific direction on infrastructure design to support applications. Create physical database objectives following established standards and processes employed by database team. Enforce database standards and follow up on inconsistencies. Perform routine reviews of databases and systems to ensure acceptable levels of performance. Report problem performance areas and recommendations for improvement. Follow up on recommendations and actively push for implementation as appropriate. Understand and apply database concepts, including database definitions, parameters, database component placement, reorganization, access methods and security definitions. Work with capacity planning, operations, application developers and other TSG teams on database performance and access issues. Provide 24/7 support of production database environments. Provide on call support as needed for on‐call issues with database environments and provide follow up and permanent resolution for reoccurring issues. Implement backup and recovery procedures to protect integrity of data in database environment. Manage backups to ensure recovery and processes are successful. Participate in recovery of databases and assist with disaster recovery testing and documentation.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation: utilizing database management systems, operating systems and systems administration concepts; utilizing version control systems including GIT, TFS, SVN, and JIRA; utilizing Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, MS Visual Studio, Liquibase, Flyaway, and Red Gate; analyzing SQL Stored procedures to identify data and performance issues and execution plans; writing SQL Scripts to perform ad hoc updates for fixing data issues, configuration changes, and environment update; gathering business requirements and conducting deployments during release and production support; conducting partitioning, indexing, tablespaces, optimization, and tuning. Telecommuting and/or working from home is permissible. 25% travel required.
