About the role:
As an IT Architect, you'll help design the foundation for how our global fintech platforms perform and scale. Your expertise will influence selecting, operating and administering systems and software for our environment that supports vital business processes.

What you will be doing:

• Defining and maintaining a repository of technical component models for FIS product lines
• Documenting technical product solutions as well as key FIS financial services opportunities
• Maintaining a repository of reusable technical application components relevant for applications and product lines
• Align architecture with business strategy while applying modern technology practices
• Promote modern technical and DevOps practices
• Provide architectural direction as products move off legacy technologies

What you will need:

• Versed in communicating the value of new IT strategies
• Must be highly technical and hands-on
• Able to provide seed code to development teams
• Must be able to create and own technical designs (https://stackoverflow.blog/2020/04/06/a-practical-guide-to-writing-technical-specs/) good example of what is mean on stack overflow
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with at least one major cloud (Azure or AWS preferred)
• Must be a generalist rather than a specialist in any one specific area as this is a far reaching position
• Must have excellent written and communications skills (this is a must!)
• Hands-on experience with Open Source Cloud-Native tools (5 years)
• Practical experience with large data sets (structured, semi-structured, unstructured)
• Angular, Java, JavaScript, SAML, Restful API experience
• Experience with COBOL desired, but not required
• Experience with IMS/DB2 desired, but not required
• A bachelor's in computer science or engineering, or the equivalent experience - post-graduate education desired.
