What does a great Commercial Counsel do?
As Commercial Counsel, you would provide legal support to Fiserv’s Enterprise sales team within the Global Business Solutions by preparing and negotiating merchant, vendor and related agreements; providing counsel to sales, account management, product, implementation, and technology leaders on legal matters; and collaborating closely with company specialists regarding intellectual property, technology, privacy, security, regulatory, employment, and litigation matters.
As Commercial Counsel, you can loo forward to:
Working directly with business unit representatives to prepare and negotiate merchant, vendor and other commercial agreements for Global Business Solutions division.
Advising business partners on legal, contractual and risk matters impacting their areas of responsibility.
Providing counsel and legal advice with respect to critical initiatives, technology projects, customer and vendor contracts, intellectual property, dispute resolution, regulatory matters, corporate policies and procedures, and administration.
Effectively interact with corporate specialists regarding finance, audit, tax, IT, regulatory, privacy and technology matters that affect the business division.
Maintaining knowledge of industry best practices and applicable legislation affecting the operations of the Global Business Solutions division.
Developing and maintaining forms of contracts and other legal documentation.
What we need you to have:
JD from accredited law school
Licensed to practice, or ability to become licensed to practice, in appropriate jurisdiction
In good standing with State Bar with no disciplinary record
3 years of relevant experience negotiating, drafting, and redlining contracts
Highly motivated and organized, able to set and execute priorities effectively
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external parties
Strong analytical and decision-making skills and attention to detail, particularly with risk identification/ mitigation, contract drafting, and negotiating
Ability to investigate complex business problems, develop effective recommendations, negotiate and/or present solutions, and resolve problems in a highly professional and tactful manner
