What does a great Compliance Specialist- Advisor do?
You will be the cornerstone for compliance monitoring and assurance for ISO Partner Solutions, implementing the compliance monitoring strategy for the business unit. You will collaborate with internal and external business partners to define and document the regulatory compliance operating environment and key risk indicators and build compliance testing plans using a risk-based approach. You will ensure all data integrity items/fees are identified, documented, and accounted for and properly communicated to clients (ISOs, FSPs, Banks, Merchants, etc.). Additionally, you will consult with Finance and other internal teams to ensure Fiserv properly manages and dispositions all Association and Network fees/fines.
In this role, you can look forward to:
- Performing risk assessments and internal control reviews, map controls to applicable regulations and Association/Network fees/fines.
- Identifying, communicating, and ensuring that fines/fees are included as pass-through items to clients and merchants according to contract schedules.
- Partnering with Finance to ensure all fees/fines are identified and billed to clients/partners/merchants
- Performing control assessments and tests to validate the strength and adequacy of the control environment with respect to fee/fine identification and client level billing and recommend remediation where needed to support all compliance obligations of Fiserv and our Clients.
- Contributing to the establishment of policies and procedures and recommend necessary changes to procedures, to ensure ISO Partner Solutions effectively manages all fines, fees and client communications related to Associations and Networks and other governmental requirements
- Preparing formal compliance fine/fee tracking reports to senior management and for review
- Maintaining effective working relationships with all business units/groups, and external auditing companies.
- Coordinating across business functions and in consultation with the Compliance Team, Legal Department for regulatory examinations and audits as well as Finance, Service, CBE and Product teams.
- Leading and conducting regulatory compliance reviews, audits, self-assessments, and systematic reviews for all products within the scope of responsibility.
- Recognizing and responding to emerging coverage and compliance issues.
- Providing compliance answers to submitted queries.
- Working closely with the internal Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, Product and Service departments for guidance on all legal and compliance matters (including interpretation of laws, regulations, and payment network rules, as needed), in prioritizing compliance program efforts.
- Partnering with all Product Teams to ensure that regulatory compliance requirements are incorporated into product design and development.
- Participating in cross-functional team meetings to implement and execute company initiatives.
- Representing the company in compliance-related discussions and meetings with internal and external clients.
- Attending professional meetings, seminars, and continued education programs to remain current in compliance, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
Basic qualifications for consideration:
- High School graduate/GED
- 3 years of industry experience
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
- Merchant Acquiring Industry knowledge and Card Brand knowledge of Data Integrity edits/requirements.
