What does a successful Systems Engineer, Senior do?
• Discover network devices to add to monitoring tool(s) work orders and projects to deploy monitoring for new deployments or clients
• Develops monitoring policies and applies those to network devices
• Troubleshoots SNMPv3 monitoring to discover why an alert failed to trigger from a network device
• Automates repeatable work to free up time to spend planning the next deployment of NetOps tools
• Responds to on call pages in a timely manner when needed even on weekends or overnights
• Plans for disasters and network outages that can impact our visibility into networks and devices around the globe and in all major cloud providers.
• Embraces streaming telemetry for next-generation metric collection from devices
What you will need to have:
AS degree in IT
5-7 years of experience monitoring large networks
What would be great to have:
Bachelor’s Degree in IT. Certifications from Extrahop, Cisco or other networking expertise a plus
Experience with monitoring thousands of network devices and IP base applications in a large global network
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or Google preferred.
Experience with scripting, automation and basic programming required.
Experience with Linux required.
Experience with Active Directory and PowerShell scripting required.
Experience with disaster recovery design, planning and concepts.
Experience with Agile devops principles for project delivery sprints
