NOTE: This position reports to the Purchasing Manager and does not supervise others.

SUMMARY: The Purchasing Agent will play a key role in securing the best possible deals on aftermarket automotive parts,
ensuring quality and timely deliveries for our operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Regularly monitor the organization’s inventory levels on assigned product lines.
• Analyze supplier proposals based on cost, quality, lead times, and other relevant factors, focusing on identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Request quotes, negotiate pricing, and terms with potential vendors, applying effective negotiation techniques to achieve cost savings.
• Create and process purchase orders using our AS400 system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Obtain approvals for purchase orders from designated personnel.
• Expedite orders as necessary to maintain sufficient inventory levels.
• Proactively address supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Generate reports on purchasing activity, including cost analysis, and supplier performance metrics.
• Continuously analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers in the auto parts industry to ensure consistent quality, service, and on-time deliveries.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement strategies for the auto parts industry.
