SQL/ETL Developer - Part Time

Our long-time client in Western Massachusetts is looking for a skilled SQL/ ETL Developer to design, manipulate, map, and populate a Microsoft SQL data warehousing environment. The company is a community-oriented human services healthcare provider.

This is a part-time contract opportunity working 24-32 hours per week.

Your duties will include consulting with the data management team, gather requirements, reviewing the storage needs of the company, moving data into the data warehouse, extracting data from software feeds, from company servers, filling the warehouse, and testing it upon completion.

To ensure success, you should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL and warehouse architecture.

In this role you will need to be able to clearly communicate your ideas to the company. Ultimately, you will create a highly efficient and customized warehouse environment that perfectly suits their data storage needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Consulting with data management teams to get a big-picture idea of the company’s data storage needs.
  • Coding the ETL process in MS SQL.
  • Conducting testing of the MS SQL commands.
  • Ensure that the ETL process works prior to conducting the extract.
  • Testing the storage system once all the data has been transferred.
  • Troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  • Providing maintenance support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS SQL, SSIS and SSRS. Coding experience is a bonus in languages, including C#, .NET, XML, and Power BI.
  • Basic DBA skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills including:
    • Excel: formulas, V-Lookups, Pivot tables, etc.
    • MS Access: querying, reporting, data connectivity, VBA
    • Word: formulas, mail merge, documentation
  • Proficiency in warehousing architecture.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Ability to analyze the company’s data needs.
  • Ability to gather data requirements.
  • Clear communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
