Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required
- Special Education Endorsement in SM, SE, SA or SV preferred
- Eligible for or have Michigan Teacher Consultant approval required
- Master’s Degree in related field required
- 3 years teaching experience; 3 years in Special Education required
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Highly Effective Evaluation preferred
- Experience in a Leadership Role preferred
- Evidence of Exceptional Organization Skills required
- Responsible for a caseload of students
- Monitoring and supporting students on a regular basis
- Assessing individual needs of students
- Developing a plan of support for student
- Training, modeling, and mentoring teachers on support plans
- Responsible for planning, assessment, and instruction
- Responsible for coaching and supporting teachers in general and special education classes to improve skills in differentiation of curriculum and using appropriate supports for students to be successful.
- Interpret and use data from ongoing assessments to inform instruction.
- Participate in professional development and implement best practice.
