The Contract and Grants Specialist will provide assistance in the financial administration of Five Horizon Health Services, Inc contracts and grants.
Position Requirements:
- Requires a strong proficiency in planning and executing multiple long-term projects simultaneously.
- Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.
· Highly developed attention to detail, the ability to prioritize appropriately, make independent decisions and work well under tight deadlines.
· Calmness and efficiency needed to perform activities involving many details and frequent changes and strong communication skills.
· Effectively and collaboratively work across departments with all Program Directors, Program Managers, and the Financial Accounting Division.
· Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, federal and university regulations.
· Considerable knowledge of the methods, procedures and techniques involved in post-award grant accounting and compliance operations.
- Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal, state and/or community funding sources and mechanisms.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain central files for grants and contracts, including proposals, awarded grants, monthly reimbursement submissions and site visits.
- Maintains a calendar of all contracts and grants reporting deadlines to ensure timely submission and follow-up.
- Assists the Contracts and Grants Accounting Manager in relaying timelines and coordination of necessary documentation in order to meet deadlines.
- Prepare grant reports for funders.
- Prepares complex grant budgets in a variety of formats. Develops, implements and maintains the budget spreadsheet template and budget narrative.
· Writes sections of grant proposals such as budget narratives, personnel and other descriptive sections
· Clarifies and resolves technical and contractual issues with grants, and guides department staff on grant regulations and use of grant funding.
· Reviews invoices, travel expense requests and payment documentation for accuracy and proper coding; processes invoices for reimbursement.
· Work with finance staff to track fund disbursement and develop financial reports as per grantor reporting requirements.
- Assist with the review of procurements to ensure compliance with government and donor applicable regulations and restrictions.
- Perform complex, specialized function-related administrative tasks with little to no supervision.
- Prepare other materials as requested including letters, budgets, and presentations.
- Coordinates with the Financial Accounting Division to ensure all requests for reimbursements, billed services, or invoices submitted according to contract are recorded.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
- A college degree in business, finance, accounting, public administration or other closely related program from an accredited university with a minimum of 1 year related experience.
- Experience in field may be substituted for education with a 2 year experience match to one year education
Skills Required:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products with solid emphasis on Excel.
· Knowledge of QuickBooks Online helpful.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
