Provides a wide range of general maintenance, facility and equipment repairs, natural area maintenance and restoration, or gardening activities based on assigned area of discipline. Responsible for coordination and provision of training activities at assigned location

Coordinates and leads classroom and field training activities of equipment, tools, and best practices, including refresher training as required. Coordinates and leads, training activities for staff in assigned area. Responsible for working with Human Resources to plan, schedule, and document training.Organizes and leads monthly discussion on safety with all staff at assigned location.Monitors and tracks use of tools and equipment, reviews all monthly inspections to ensure safety items are communicated to supervisory staff, and equipment is locked out and tagged out of service if required. Promotes MetroParks’ mission and vision through daily interaction with park users, responds to public questions and concerns, educates and trains volunteers to complete parks, horticulture, or conservation activities with limited supervision. Serves on committees to plan and implement various projects such as developing park interpretive plans, sustainability practices, safety, trails, etc. Attends trainings/meetings to enhance job related knowledge. Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance, and works outside of normal schedule as required. Performs the essential duties outlined in the assigned technician job descriptions for Conservation, Horticulture, and Park.Presents safety and training information as provided by the Safety Team and Human Resources, as requested.Provides service to the public, responding to questions, helping, and providing information.Collaborates internally, within, and across functional areas, to provide information and service to others in the organization to contribute to the effective operation of the agency and all staff.Leads volunteers in assigned parks or conservation activities.Performs other duties as assigned.
