Director of Housekeeping

The Opportunity

We are actively seeking to add a Director of Housekeeping to join our team, As the Housekeeping Director, you will train and supervise cleaning staff, prepare schedules, and assign duties to staff. You will also maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies, inspect rooms and common areas to make sure they are clean, meet the standards of the hotel, and report to hotel management about your team's work.

What You’ll Do

Organize

• Ensuring that the community is neat and clean and that resident apartments are cleaned as specified in job duties.
• Supervise team members in the housekeeping department.
• Dealing with suppliers of linen, cleaning materials and guest supplies, such as soap, shampoo, etc.

Execute

• Controlling supply costs, as well as laundry, maintenance, and wages
• Scheduling staff rotations.
• Overseeing stock takes, budgets and other paperwork, such as maintenance reports and safety audits.
• Ensuring lost property is kept safely and returned to its owner.
• Departmental operations such scheduling and organizing each day.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Education

• Bachelors Degree or some higher education preferred
• Leadership experience, Senior Living preferred
• 2 years of experience in the Housekeeping department of a large property/community/campus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• The desire to work with the senior population and to always act with integrity and compassion.
