What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intelligence Manager position at Fivecast?
Our Intelligence team are responsible for analysing and interpreting data from a variety of sources, to support our clients decision-making processes. You will manage a small team of former military and private sector intelligence professionals utilising information databases and Fivecast open-source intelligence platforms and media analysis tools to deliver data and intelligence products to our customers.
Our Intelligence Team Lead will have exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to navigate through complex online environments, including open, deep and dark web as well as 3rd party datasets to turn ambiguous requests into meaningful insights. This person will have the ability to drive change in uncertainty, build new procedures and toolsets and scale up processes for an emerging function and team. Our intelligence team will define, collect, analyse, curate and deliver datasets and associated intelligence products to cover key threat groups, defined risks, issues, or geographies, enabling fast discovery of operationally relevant data for our customers to replace onerous manual searches.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage processes and tools to enable the intelligence team to conduct data collection, analysis and delivery of datasets and products
- Navigate through complex online environments and 3rd party datasets to turn data collection requests into well defined tasks and outputs
- Work with 3rd parties to leverage their expertise or data products
- Liaise and engage with external law enforcement and intelligence professionals and senior representatives and act as an ambassador for the intelligence team
- Ensure project requirements are met and providing quality control of the datasets, reports or presentations
- Supporting the growth and delivery of an innovative and driven intelligence team, maintain oversight of tasks and support the delivery of high-quality intelligence products
- Provide updates to the Product Management team and be responsive to shifting priorities
- Estimate, plan and report progress for all tasks conducted by the intelligence team
Experience & Education
- US citizen (required)
- Security Clearance: TS or SECRET clearance
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in National Security studies, Criminal Intelligence, Political Science, Business, Economics, International Relations, or Foreign Studies
- Experience working in a military intelligence, law enforcement, Government, or private intelligence environment as an Intelligence Analyst, Collection Specialist, Targeting Analyst, Personnel Security Vetting Officer or similar position.
- Experience contributing to law enforcement investigations, knowledge of the evidential chain and where intelligence can be converted to evidence.
Skills & Knowledge
- Expert understanding of current subject matter relevant to the Fivecast customers across counter terrorism, counter-intelligence, cyber threats, security-vetting, supply-chain risk management and border security issues
- Strong grasp of US and 5-eyes current affairs and National Security interests.
- Expert knowledge of open-source research and intelligence gathering techniques, particularly where access to or availability of official/privileged sources is limited.
- Strong understanding of intelligence assessment techniques and tools, as well as how to perform analysis manually (without automated or specialised tools)
- Formal intelligence analysis training, such as Army OS 301 & 302, CASO course (Blackhorse), Intel techniques OSINT course
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
