The Research & Development (R&D) Technician I will support all aspects of R&D operations in the lab and on the factory floor, as needed to complete projects, develop concepts, support customer requests, and projects for manufacturing process improvement. The Research & Development (R&D) Technician I will support all aspects of R&D operations in the lab and on the factory floor, as needed to complete projects, develop concepts, support customer requests, and projects for manufacturing process improvement.

Duties/Responsibilities/Required Skills:

  • This role will report to the Leader/Manager of R&D Operations
  • Weighing and dispensing ingredients
  • Understands and operates to cGMP and Lab Safety
  • Following a recipe and processing instructions
  • Execute bench-top evaluations
  • Maintains an accurate and timely lab notebook
  • Keeps appropriate and accurate records to support internal projects and external customers.
  • As needed: Handles shipping and receiving ingredients for Lab
  • Scheduling lab testing/related activities
  • Reviewing and Interpreting lab results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good team working abilities
  • The ability to work independently
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding food hygiene and safety
  • Strong analytical and numerical/math skills
  • Must be highly proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding spoken English
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Assist in developing experimental plans
  • Support new ingredient and product development initiatives
  • Provide status updates, work packages & milestones, and outcomes to the team.
  • Keep appropriate records to support IP strategy and support patent activities including
  • Strong work ethic and dependability.
  • Ability to maintain multiple projects at once

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s of Science is a plus, but not required
  • At least one year of experience in a related/direct field of experience, expected

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events.
  • Must be comfortable in a lab environment and the associated hazards of lab work
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE as needed to operate safely in the lab or other areas

Position Timing:

  • The position will be available to fill: Immediately
