What are the responsibilities and job description for the Imaging Assistant - PRN position at Flagler Hospital?
The Imaging Assistant, MRI will perform various administrative and clinical duties related to patient care such as,
transport, room turn over, assisting patients throughout the Imaging department and hospital, maintaining a safe work
environment, collecting patient information and assisting the Technologist. Focus on MRI safety.
Essential Responsibilities
- Working closely and under the supervision of Imaging Technologist performing various clinical duties.
- Escorting and assisting with various patient needs throughout the Imaging department and hospital.
- Assisting patients, in and out of wheel chairs, transferring patients on and off stretchers. Transporting patients
throughout Imaging department. - Heavy lifting is required.
- Assisting with patient healthcare needs.
- Assist with room turn over, cleaning and lifting equipment required.
- Taking medical history from patients, family members and nursing staff.
- Helping in other imaging modalities as directed by Imaging technologist, Charge Tech or Manager.
- Communication skills, organizational skills, computer skills, basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care.
- Verifying patient information, entering exams, answering phones.
Experience Requirements
- 1-year experience in medical office preferred
Certificates/Licenses/Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferences
MRI safety education required yearly due to safety issues in a magnetic field.
