POSITION: Quality Assurance Technician II
REPORTS TO: QA Manager
Position Summary: Quality Technician II measures performance against quality and food safety standards. Safety and proper GMP’s are practiced in all areas of work. The technician is responsible for the entirety of their line from mixing through packaging.
Essential Functions Packaging • Performs package evaluations on finished packages that may include: o Integrity o Appearance and Functionality o Atmosphere o Codes and Dates o UPC and label correctness • Performs product evaluations on finished products that may include: o Breakage o Salts and Component ratios o Flavor, odor, texture, and appearance • Measurement Recording and Communications and maintains records of findings and highlights non-conformance • Inform Operators, Mechanics, Line Leaders, and Managers of issues • Assures Food Safety, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices compliance throughout facility • Verification of metal detection program and x-ray program compliance • Validates accuracy of measurements and equipment for quality measurement • Evaluates palletized product leaving department for compliance to all standards • Assures information for actions and standards are available and communicated to all staff that require it to make informed decisions and minimum defects • Identifies and acts to prevent unacceptable product shipment to customer • Check and verify label stock Sample Preparation • Assures accurate formulation and components and verifies package compliance to standards for appearance and performance. • Tests and verifies ingredients are correct grade, standard, appearance, chemical/ physical/microbiological compliant and sensory attributes are met. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
