As the Operations Controller, you will play a crucial role in the financial management and control of our Evansville manufacturing and warehousing operations. This position requires a financial leader with a strong understanding of financial analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal controls. The Operations Controller will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance, optimize costs, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models for the plant.
Analyze and report on variances, identifying areas for cost improvement and efficiency enhancement.
Provide insights into financial trends and collaborate with management to drive informed decision-making.
Cost Accounting:
Oversee the cost accounting process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of manufacturing costs.
Analyze product costs and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
Discounted cash flow analysis and capital justification
Collaborate with production teams to understand and improve manufacturing processes.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Communicate financial results and key performance indicators to senior management.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Experience with inventory management and accounting
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Participate in internal and external audits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and other departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
Work closely with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies.
Here's What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
5-7 years as a Controller or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and manufacturing processes.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Proficient in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
