Operations Controller- Midwest

As the Operations Controller, you will play a crucial role in the financial management and control of our Evansville manufacturing and warehousing operations. This position requires a financial leader with a strong understanding of financial analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal controls. The Operations Controller will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance, optimize costs, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models for the plant.
• Analyze and report on variances, identifying areas for cost improvement and efficiency enhancement.
• Provide insights into financial trends and collaborate with management to drive informed decision-making.

Cost Accounting:

• Oversee the cost accounting process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of manufacturing costs.
• Analyze product costs and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
• Discounted cash flow analysis and capital justification
• Collaborate with production teams to understand and improve manufacturing processes.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Communicate financial results and key performance indicators to senior management.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Experience with inventory management and accounting
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Participate in internal and external audits.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and other departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
• Work closely with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies.

Here's What You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 5-7 years as a Controller or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Proficient in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
