What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Specialist position at Fleet Farm?
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting in the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, supplemental benefits, and 401(k) plan. This includes aiding with communicating benefits information and facilitating an understanding of company programs, initiatives and goals.
Essential Job Functions The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information and accurate payroll deductions.
Performs quality checks of benefits related data.
Assists Team Members regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
Educates site Human Resources on benefits best practices through the creation of training material and conducting of training.
Responds to benefits inquiries from location management, human resources and Team Members regarding plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
Works with Insurance carriers and broker to ensure successful plan performance.
Responds to 401(k) inquiries relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts.
Assists with the open enrollment process.
Assists in IRS Form1095-C reporting.
Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing of charges.
Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information.
Plans, develops, and/or participates in area and industry surveys. Analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by management.
Education/Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent years of experience is required.
One to three years of experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
