Responsibilities:
- Perform analyses, write reports, and complete figures for projects assigned. Typical projects include: Traffic Impact Studies, Parking Studies, Safety Studies, School Studies, Traffic Signal Warrants.
- Perform crash data evaluation and preparation of Safety Studies
- Leading designated projects and reporting progress to senior staff
- Coordinate and perform the permitting of traffic/transportation engineering, and infrastructure projects
- Prepare proposals and project budgets in collaboration with team members
- Coordinate work with other engineers, interns, and others who assist in specific assignments as needed
- Perform field data collection as needed. Occasional travel for field work is required.
- Ability to work overtime during evening and/or weekends, as needed by project schedule
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning or related degree required
- 2 - 5 years of related experience required
- FE/EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months, PE preferred
- Familiarity with Michigan (County, City, State) permitting
- Detail oriented and self-starter
- Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present at public meetings, effective public speaking skills
- Experience with SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, MMUTCD, AutoCAD or Microstation, ITE Trip Generation Manual required; HCM, HSC, PTV VISUM, PTV VISTRO, Rodel, preferred
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
