Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains performance standards and pursues goals, objectives, and activities that promote the mission and values of the college.

  • Supervises faculty in allied health programs, including conducting performance evaluations, leave requests, and time sheets.

  • Develops allied health course schedules, including credit, non-credit, and dual enrollment courses at local high schools, with academic deans, faculty, and high school personnel.

  • Builds courses in Banner in collaboration with the Registrar and Allied Health Directors

  • Monitors enrollment reports of all scheduled division courses.

  • Partners with enrollment services to add and maintain information concerning allied health programs, courses, and trainings listed in the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Eligible Training Provider List for approval of WIOA funding.

  • Assists allied health faculty with curriculum revisions and development making recommendations for improvement, program growth, and to address industry needs.

  • Assists allied health faculty with submitting student completers, graduates, and IBCs earned by students to the Registrar and monitors for timeliness and completeness of submittals.

  • Promotes job opportunities to current and former students and assists division faculty with tracking job placement.

  • Manages allied health monthly meetings and program advisory committee process for all programs within the Allied Health department.

  • Assists the Dean of N & AH and allied health faculty with accreditation needs.

  • Secures support for allied health programs by building and maintaining communications with faculty, administration, enrollment services, other college divisions, and business and industry partners.

  • Plans and facilitates department events (e.g. closing ceremonies) and assists in college-wide events (e.g. open houses, recruiting visits, job fairs).

  • Leads and coordinates summer camps in collaboration with Dean and Administrative Coordinator.

  • Strategizes for college growth through new credit and non-credit programs/course development.

  • Maintains appropriate records and provides summary reports of activities as needed or requested.

  • Meets schedules and timelines.

  • Responds to inquiries and refers to faculty, students, and visitors to the appropriate resources.

  • Identifies weaknesses or problems and make recommendations for their solutions.

  • Submits requests to order equipment and supplies as needed.

  • Assists in the initiation of contracts, memorandums of understanding, and other professional agreements.

  • Assists in managing allied health department facilities and equipment.

  • Serves on appropriate college committees.

  • Participates in professional development activities as requested/needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education: Master’s degree


Required Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in higher ed in a healthcare related program (community college preferred).


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, flexibility with the ability to be a collaborative team player, and experience administering higher education training programs. The ability to plan, coordinate, and manage the on-going improvement of programs and course offerings. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Must be willing to work flexible hours

Location - Campuses are located in Houma, Schriever and Thibodaux, 50 miles southwest of New Orleans.
