Job Posting for Human Resources Assistant at Flex-n-Gate
The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for providing transactional HR support to the HR Department. The assistant will provide support in the areas of payroll, orientations, benefits, health and safety and other areas as directed. Clerical work will include filing of various correspondence, employee file information, benefit documents, and other records in alphabetical, numerical or any other required ordering system. Other duties involve maintaining accurate, up-to-date HR filing systems and personnel records. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Support Human Resource Department with all transactional HR functions.
Processing of weekly timekeeping to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Compile and enter payroll data such as vacation time, medical leaves, FMLA, etc.
Communication with Supervisors and Managers to ensure timekeeping is accurate.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive personnel records.
Assist in the recruitment and selection processes.
Distribute HR policies, procedures and memorandums to the appropriate individuals, divisions, or departments across the organization.
Assist with employee orientation and training.
Fax, photocopy and scan documents as required.
Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.
Use standardized filing methods and procedures, e.g. alphabetical, numerical.
Create new files and records as necessary.
Eliminate unnecessary or outdated materials, destroying them or transferring them to inactive storage according to file maintenance / legal guidelines.
Adhere to all procedures and policies.
Maintain employee profiles, ensuring that they are up to date.
Ensure all wage changes are made accurately and in time for effected pay periods.
Follow payroll procedures for terminated employees.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
2-3 years previous related experience.
Experience as a Human Resources Assistant or Payroll Clerk would be considered an asset.
Excellent written and verbal skills and comprehension.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of Human Resources related laws and procedures
Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail required.
Work well in a team environment.
Able to maintain confidential information.
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
