We are looking for experienced manufacturers to learn the aspects of Superfinish/Polishing for our Green Bay client! All training is provided and they offer a very supportive work environment with room for advancement! Pay starts at $17/hour and may be increased based on skills and performance! This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for a 3 or 4 day work week!! Multiple shifts available!!
1st shift: 6am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday
2nd shift: 4:15pm-2:45am Monday-Thursday
Weekend shift: 6am-6:30pm Friday-Sunday (WORK 36 HOURS - GET PAID FOR 40)
Job Summary:
Set up and polish ceramic coated anilox roll cylinders to specified sizes, taper and surface roughness for laser engraving. Ability to learn and operate cylindrical superfinish to polish to specification prior to laser. To be able to multitask within the policies and expectations of the company when/if necessary. To work with all those involved in your day to day and to always keep a professional attitude and appearance. Take ownership in all duties and policies related to this position.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
- Use a series of different polishing stones to achieve finish size and roughness using a lathe-like machine.
- Inspect anilox roll for taper, out of round, and blemishes to ensure product meets quality standards.
- Conduct required routine maintenance on equipment.
- Report any maintenance or product issues to supervisor.
- Maintain neat and orderly work area.
- Run machine efficiently.
- Use overhead crane, or by hand, to load and unload product.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Practice Instructions.
- Other duties when necessary, as specified by production supervisor/management.
- Observes and follows all safety procedures while using appropriate safety equipment.
- Coordinates the maintenance of equipment with Management.
- Clock in/out jobs using computer.
- Use of overhead crane, or by hand, to load and unload product.
- Ensure product meets quality standards before and after process.
- Report any maintenance or product issues to supervisor.
- Help to maintain the organization and cleanliness of Superfinish/Grind Department
- Ability to use/read various meters and scopes to diagnose.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Practice Instructions.
- Ability to work overtime as required by the company.
- Other duties when necessary, as specified by management.
- Total accountability (all aspects of the position).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years’ previous Superfinish/Grind operation/set-up/completion or Tech School Machining (Preferred).
- Possess operational skills and have a good understanding of all polish techniques/machines.
- Complete understanding of/or ability to learn all operation aspects of cylindrical polishing to fully operate superfinsh machines and produce to quality specifications per Harper Corporation standards as dictated by production management and quality control.
- General use and understanding of machine shop math principles and skills.
- General machining and/or grinding understanding of geometric tolerances such as circularity, concentricity, taper, etc.
- Possess the ability to accurately use and maintain precision instruments to measure diameters, circularity, taper, concentricity, etc., such as but not limited to; dial indicators, dial calipers, to read a Micrometer up to .0001 accurately.
- Ability to set up and use a dial indicator to achieve concentricity of .0005.
- Possess the ability to understand the maximization of polishing tools and polishing belts using the proper machine settings.
- Possess the ability to accurately use and maintain precision instruments to measure diameters, circularity, taper, concentricity, etc., such as, but not limited to; dial indicators and dial calipers.
- Knowledge of how to accurately read a tape measure.
- Possess a good mechanical aptitude.
- Understand and read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to exercise judgment and modify procedures to deal with the variables of each roll.
- Ability to trouble-shoot mechanical technologies.
- Good communication skills
- Observes and follows all safety procedures while using all appropriate safety equipment.
