Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an Sr. PCBA Process Automation Engineer located in Austin, TX. Reporting to the Director, Process Enginering the Sr. PCBA Process Automation Engineer, will be responsible for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to support the manufacturing organization for the entire site operations. What a typical day looks like: Understand the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the product. Work with other functional departments (operators, line leaders, supervisors, engineers and managers) on processes and equipment implementation and training. Mentor other team members on equipment best practices, process implementation, problem solving and improvements. Define, implement, and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability Have the capability to independently or together with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues Prepare justification, purchase, and implement capital equipment for production and new business opportunities Support and oversee new process equipment production Work with suppliers and partners on optimal equipment configuration and line definition to support business. Support the raising and introduction of engineering change orders (ECOs) Establish robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies Trouble shoot process related issues Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements Evaluate and select various engineered materials (solder paste, epoxies, fluxes, solder wires, etc.) used in the manufacturing of electronic products. Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products Implement safety, productivity, and yield improvements Improve manufacturing techniques and through put Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities and yields Develop and maintain process documentation Review processing methods Interface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required Lead cost improvement/reduction programs Participate as owner or SME on ICAR, SCAR, CAPA or PA initiated within the PCBA organization for root cause, preventive and corrective actions. The experience we’re looking to add to our team, Strong work ethic and motivation. Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related area Extensive experience on PCB Assembly, Surface Mount Technology and related processes (paste printing, SPI, SMD placement, dispensing, PoP, reflow, inspection, soldering, MES integration, machine communication) Strong experience with front end of process for PCBA Deep understanding of bare board fabrication specs Extensive experience with SMT DFM PCBA miniaturization (Micro – CSP) 01005, 0201 and BTC technology knowledge. Microsoft proficiency Must have strong oral and written communications skills. Excellent customer interfacing skills Here are a few of our preferred experiences: People management skills preferred.
