Job Summary The Senior Vice President of FP&A will play a key role in designing and building Nextracker’s financial planning and analysis function. This executive will collaborate with functional leaders and the Finance team to understand the stories behind the numbers, define and track key performance indicators, and build analytical frameworks for making strategic financial decisions. As a newly public company, Nextracker is rapidly maturing and this role will define the metrics that Nextracker uses to measure its progress and guide the next stage of growth. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer, leads a team of finance professionals, and works directly with senior leaders across the company. The Senior Vice President of FP&A must be intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and able to identify solutions to complex problems (frequently with limited or incomplete data), then roll-up their sleeves to drive implementation and track their work’s impact. The Senior Vice President of FP&A is expected to lead a team of high-performing professionals to unlock their full potential and collectively to unlock the potential of Nextracker’s breakthrough product portfolio and software platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Partner with the business to support strategy and business decision-making. Work cross functionally to ensure accurate reporting on all financial metrics and key performance indicators; develop insights and understanding of variances. Oversee company P&L and provide analysis and presentation of monthly and quarterly financial and operational metrics including performance vs. plan. Lead the annual planning/budgeting process and coordinate across business departments, accounting and strategy to create comprehensive annual plan. Define, implement, track and utilize metrics and KPIs that will be used to measure and ensure business progress; identify metrics that will be shared externally. Establish regular cadence with business partners for monthly budget vs. actual analysis, review delivery on operating plan and drive improvements to operating expense efficiency and forecasting. Recommend appropriate course of action when results differ from plan. Lead financial aspects of quarterly Board meeting preparation and partner closely with investor relations team. Work closely with business partners to drive "investment to outcome" mentality; ensure all investments are measured against desired outcomes and course correct when needed. Provide financial modeling, financial analysis, new product development, and assistance with other ad-hoc financial projects as needed. Proactively seek opportunities to improve planning and reporting processes. DESIRED OUTCOMES Enhance the team’s capability to translate operational performance into financial dialogue and ensure the company is on target to meet financial commitments. Lead the team to further understand complex data leveraging various business intelligence capabilities and develop the skill sets of the FP&A organization to enhance decision support capabilities (predictive modeling, analytics, etc.). Recruit key individuals to address any skill gaps, motivate and develop professionals on the team, and develop a retention plan for top talent. Strengthen the profile of the financial planning function as a true business partner across all areas of the business. 15 years of progressive finance experience, the majority in an FP&A role. Deep experience with the associated budgeting, forecasting, and metrics-driven business partnership of a seasoned strategic finance executive. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dynamic, technology-driven environment. Exposure to the solar industry is nice to have, but not required. Leadership experience within the FP&A organization of a global, ideally $1 billion revenue public company. Experience building out and/or elevating the FP&A systems, processes, and team of a growing company. A “doer” capable of being hands-on, balanced by the high-level strategic partner mentality of a senior finance leader. Education and Professional Certifications Strong academic credentials, including an undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or related field. MBA strongly desired.
