Purpose of Position
The Maintenance Manager manages all program maintenance processes, training, operations standardization, and coordinates closely with logistic specialist with supply functions. Is responsible for Altus ATS day-to-day maintenance operations of aircrew training devices, program-wide oversight of maintenance processes and performance, and support the Training System Support Center (TSSC) with timely feedback as required on program training device status.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements program-wide maintenance policy and procedures including performance standards for inspection and maintenance activities.
- Prioritizes necessary Altus ATS maintenance activities and evaluates workloads, oversees program-wide activities and coordinates with Site Managers on priorities to accomplish required maintenance activities/tasks.
- Coordinates and assists the Engineering Support Center (ESC) with training device modification and change order activities/efforts with as required.
- Develops and implements program-wide maintenance training programs.
- Manages and tracks open work orders at each ATS Site and reports status to Site Managers and TSSC Manager. Ensures timely reporting is accomplished by sites to the contract officer representative (COR).
- Supports the Corporate Quality Assurance Program and Simulator Quality Management System (SQMS) to ensure compliance.
- Ensures that required program-wide technical publications and maintenance manuals are updated/current.
- Applies industry accepted training device configuration control and supply management principles to daily site work activities.
- Interfaces with simulation systems, visual systems, local and facility support agencies to support device repair/replacement actions that are beyond site capabilities.
- Ensures that all program sites maintenance personnel comply with established maintenance policies and procedures, as well as industry mandated safety practices.
- Performs Altus Facility Manager Duties, as required.
- Travels as required
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- AS/AA degree or vocational training in simulation, computers, electronics or robotics. BSEE or BSME degree is highly desired.
Minimum Experience
- Five years recent experience in major training devices maintenance including two years supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to clearly relay verbal and written information to others.
- Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision; and able to effectively direct/manage other personnel.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and to assume responsibility for accuracy and completeness of work.
- Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
- Working knowledge of basic aerodynamics, radio navigation, and other aircraft-related systems.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to talk or hear; to sit, stand, and walk; and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls. The teammate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and to stoop and kneel. The teammate must be able to ingress/egress from the simulator, work in inclement weather and temperature extremes as set forth in Air Force and company guidelines. The teammate must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The teammate must have close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
