Job Summary
The Assistant Volleyball Coach will provide leadership in the administration of all aspects of the sport program including coaching, recruiting, contest scheduling, supervising support sports Staff, budget management, student athlete mentoring, and ensuring program compliance meets NCAA, Conference, and University Rules and Regulations.
Job Description
Essential Job Duties:
* Assist with coaching highly competitive volleyball program competing at NCAA Division I and in the ASUN Conference.
* Assist head coach in mentoring the student-athletes on our team.
* Assist head coach with planning, monitoring, and implementation of daily practice sessions.
* Assist head coach with scouting, game planning, and evaluations for competitions.
* Assist with player development, alumnae relations, and camps/clinics
* Observes and makes corrective coaching.
* Develops and implements game strategy and position assignments.
* Monitors and maintains discipline and conduct of athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics program.
* Monitors academic progress and status of team members, implementing action plans when needed.
* Assists with team travel arrangements.
* Recruits quality prospective student-athletes.
* Maintains current knowledge of all NCAA rules and must pass NCAA recruiting exam.
* Attends FGCU athletic functions and meetings.
* Assists with equipment ordering and distribution.
* Assists with charity functions that involve the volleyball team.
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
- CurrentCPR/AEDcertification or ability to obtain within two months of employment.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout the country.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience playing Volleyball at theNCAADivision I level.
- Experience with effective leadership, communication, coaching, and recruiting skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of NCAA DI rules and regulations-paying particular attention to recruiting, and playing season rules.
- Knowledge of ASUN rules and regulations.
- Competency with specific computer programs/apps-Word, Excel, andARMS.
- Demonstrated competence in verbal and written communication.
