- Maintain machine performance and assure quality control tests are done regularly and are current.
- Take blood pressure before providing necessary sedation as needed per doctor's orders.
- Maintains sedation log.
- Responsible for the work flow and assure exams are performed in a timely manner
- Reviews next day schedule for patient appointment time and scheduled exam matches prescription and has correct diagnosis for exam.
- Uses two patient identifiers, name and DOB.
- Interviews patient and obtains history prior to entering Zone 4. Writes diagnosis and any additional patient information on the patient questionnaire, has childbearing age patients sign pregnancy form, which is then scanned into PACS.
- In Intergy system, tech chooses tech begin when getting patient from waiting room, then tech verify and out when patient exam is complete.
- Check that results are current on patients that require lab work before doing exam.
- Start IV's and administers contrast media as directed per protocol.
- Covers patient with sheet or blanket for comfort. Ensures safety during exam and injection of contrast.
- Escorts patient to waiting area, when exam completed.
- Wipe down equipment after each patient.
- Ability to demonstrate ethical and professional behavior at all times.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to comply with all HIPPA requirements.
- Ability to follow directions/instructions from his/her supervisor.
- Ability to work independently.
- Assist other technologist during downtime
- May be asked to work at other facilities to cover vacation and call-ins.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with co-workers, patients, families, healthcare professional and external vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Keep ARRT, FL State License and CPR up to date.
- Completes all assigned education in the Learning Management System.
- Checks email daily.
- Orders supplies and contrast or informs ordering personnel of supplies needed.
- Calls for service and informs supervisor immediately if equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area as well as the break room.
- Compliant with dress code and wears name badge at all times.
- Normal physical ability; may require some bending, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds unassisted, pushing and/or assistance to patients as well as long periods of sitting.
- Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making.
- High level of verbal and written communication.
- Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Restocks supplies, places soiled linens in laundry bin, places biohazard waste and pharmaceutical waste in storage area.
- Empties HIPAA container into destruction bin.
- Log out of Intergy and PACS and out of computer before leaving.
- High risk to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards.
- The Technologist must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation, noise, infectious/communicable diseases, blood and bloodborne diseases, chemicals and/or chemical fumes, odors, gases and dusts. Frequent exposures to distressed patient, families or visitors.
- Ability to work in a high magnetic field up to 3.0 Tesla (any implanted device must meet 3.0 Tesla limits).
- High school graduate, MRI Certification or registry eligible, current BLS card.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and radiation protection.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong team player.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Basic knowledge of PACS systems.
- Minimum 1 year experience.
