Emergency Veterinary Technican - Assistant Supervisor

Florida Veterinary Referral Center & 24hr Emergency Hospital is seeking an Assistant Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team in Estero, FL. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, driven, and willing to learn. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, fun environment.

Responsibilities:

FVRC is looking for an assistant supervisor to join our team. Someone to work with our highly skilled and experienced Tech Supervisor to support our growing technical team. This is a full-time non-exempt position. 75% on the floor/ 25% Admin Time

Together you will

• Serve as a role model while working to support staff and doctors on the floor.
• Assist in ER scheduling and day to day scheduling changes
• Effectively communicate with the technician supervisor regarding issues associated with the hospital, including but not limited to employee effectiveness, and performance matters.
• Continually work with the staff to enhance the quality and efficiency of the level of care delivered to patients
• Participate positively in all capacities at work.
• Engage in active problem-solving vs. problem-identifying.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of operations in the following areas:

- Daily operations – Critical Care/Emergency Services and Specialty Services

-Hospital Case Flow

- Client Wait Times

-Laboratory procedures

-Quality of care

-Treatments and management for all hospitalized patients in the ICU and Critical Care and Emergency Services

Experience:

• Certified, Licensed, or Registered Veterinary Technician Credential (preffered)
• Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science, Biology, or Veterinary Technology
• A minimum of 1-2 years of direct supervisory experience is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a Spec/ER, Single Specialty Hospital, or Emergency/Critical Care services
• Experience with Sterilization of Animal Facilities Preferred (1-year minimum)
• Must be able to work independently and take responsibility for own time and duties.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
