SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the assembly and testing of valves.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A representative summary of tasks to be performed is provided below. The employee may be asked to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically stated in this description. The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values and operating principles of Flow Safe Inc.


  • Assemble Flow Safe valves per procedure.
  • Set up specialized test equipment to diagnose, test and validate the performance of high-pressure valve products and other pressure components.
  • Conduct end-of-line functional testing on valve components and record results.
  • Compare test results to specifications and set valve products to order requirements.
  • Assist with testing equipment maintenance and/or repair. Perform maintenance on shop equipment.
  • Maintain test results and records.
  • Carry out valve or valve subcomponent testing in support of engineering team.
  • Assist in building and testing valve prototypes to specifications.
  • Perform “VR” repairs to Flow Safe valves in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Production-test final assemblies to ensure compliance with customer and Flow Safe requirements; documents all test results.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot valve failures
  • Perform peer inspection of final assemblies before delivery to Quality or Shipping.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing / testing environment


Other Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary course in pressure testing techniques and testing equipment an asset
  • Ability to read, and interpret drawing specifications and blueprints required .
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
  • Safety and quality training a plus
