Our very first product line was ABB Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and it is at the core and foundation of who Flow Tech is: a technically focused niche product that we can sell and support better than anyone else.
After much growth and success, Flow Tech has become a go-to source for building owners, design engineers and contractors made up of over 25 employee owners and nearly 20 niche and sustainability-focused product lines. Our inside sales applications engineering team is vital to the success of Flow Tech, providing sales support including pricing, quotations, submittals, interfacing with customers, follow-up, etc.
We need the right person to support this reputation of excellence to help Flow Tech continue to succeed.
Position Summary
We are seeking individuals looking to pursue a career in technical sales. Our opening is an application engineering position that supports the sales department. Our goal is to find individuals with a drive to succeed and the ability to comprehend technical products and systems.
Performance Objectives
- Read and interpret building plans and specifications. Determine which products/services Flow Tech can get involved in on a project.
- Perform and/or analyze calculations for equipment/system selection and configuration.
- Immerse oneself into the products and services Flow Tech offers. Candidate should be able to select, price, quote, submit on and order products they are exposed to within a few weeks. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a must.
- Begin the relationship-building process with Flow Tech’s customers including contractors, end-users and design engineers. Candidates should eventually feel comfortable discussing product applications in person, over the phone and via email with professional courtesy and attention to detail.
- Assist in the organization and management of Flow Tech’s warehouse, i.e., climb ladders to help stock products, accept and send out deliveries, lift packages, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Sales experience and/or prior knowledge of HVAC equipment and systems
- Technical aptitude
- Computer literacy
- Construction industry experience
- Customer service experience
- Physical mobility (lift packages, climb ladders, stock warehouse selves)
