FLSmidth in South Sioux City, NE is currently looking to fill positions for a Alignment Technician. Duties include but are not limited to:

- To complete assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with company procedures.
- To report any unsafe equipment or condition to the immediate supervisor.
- To assist Alignment & Grinding supervisors during the service jobs.
- Get trained on our patented alignment procedure, filling the quality records to deliver to the customer in a timely fashion. Able to generate service reports in the report templates (within 2-3days after the visit).
- To get trained with various alignment methods on Rotary equipment like Thrust Monitor Alignment, Cold Alignment and Hot Kiln Alignment.
- To be familiar with the surveying methods and using a Theodolite, Auto level and electronic distance measuring tools.
- To get trained on the calibration methods for various equipment.
- To know with the procedures for repair and maintenance of rotary equipment.
- Formulating recommendations as a result of the mechanical analysis performed.
- To provide support to our Construction and Repair crew for installing base frames, rollers, tires, drive components and shell sections to specified tolerances.
- To maintain alignment equipment neat and clean and inventory all tools and equipment provided by the company.
- To maintain up to date contact information in order to be reached for work.

- Maintain open communications with Supervisors as well as with the Project Manager / department manager.
Educational qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science / Associate degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, Civil) or related field experience.
- Math & Trigonometry skills with prior knowledge or experience in surveying or aligning the rotary equipment is an added advantage.
- Maintain a current certificate status in safety training.
- Perform accurate and thorough work for quality results. Effective and efficient use of time.
- Follow instructions, rules and regulations.
- Positive attitude to the job, fellow employees, and customers.
Physical Demands:
- Requires working outdoors in hot and cold environments.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Working 10-12 hours a day.
- Climbing of stairs and/or ladders.
- Reading and comprehending.
- Travel by both driving truck and trailer and air.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Work Environment:
- General industrial environment. Occasionally extreme environments (outdoor, hot, cold, dusty, greasy, grimy, etc.)
- Working around operating rotary kilns (furnaces) with high radiant heat.
- Some sites require special PPE such as respirators.
- Travel (35-38 weeks/ year) for periods (2-4 weeks/ trip) to customer sites throughout US, including occasional international travel.
- Must be ready to travel in short notice.
