Your Responsibilities
- Studies production schedules; estimates worker hour requirements; and assigns work to meet production schedules.
- Works in conjunction with the manufacturing, production and expediting planners to set up order completion dates and shipping schedules.
- Inspects and evaluates incoming raw materials to be used in the fabrication of shop manufactured parts, analyzes data and reviews procedures to ensure meeting quality standard requirements on finished products.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Responsible for management and purchase of the shop supplies budgets and inventories by developing and controlling supplies and materials inventories.
- Maintains equipment; secures tools and equipment for performing the required tasks, and maintains the facilities in the shop and yard.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Analyzes and resolves difficult situations and assists workers in solving work problems.
- Insures that the appropriate level of accountability is transferred to and accounted on from the manufacturing team leaders to achieve established department goals and company expectations.
- Plans and monitors capacity maximization and take appropriate timely improvement actions thru experience and technical expertise to meet manufacturing production quality and quantities when emergency orders and tight deadlines are placed.
- Responsible for creating a high morale workplace with the highest ethical standards.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Manages employee performance, hiring, discipline, development and conducts evaluations and written performance reviews.
- Ability to use various hand tools, power tools, overhead cranes and hoists, and lift trucks; that are used in the Production department.
- Knowledgeable of various finished and raw parts and assemblies by part number and physical appearance.
- Knowledgeable of and ability to use AS400 computer database, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook email programs.
