What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at FLUID SYSTEM COMPONENTS INC?
Description
• Receive material from small package and pallet shipments.
• Count received material.
• Pick and pack material for shipping.
• Prepare shipping packages as required.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ensure all required parts are available and accounted for throughout process.
• Put away stock daily.
• Work closely with other employees at all levels to ensure highest quality service.
• Prioritize workflow in accordance with company requirements/guidance.
• Complete all tasks safely and on schedule, work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Maintain positive control of all tools and equipment.
• Work individually or within a team setting, as necessary
• Assist other warehouse personnel, as required.
• Other Warehouse Operations duties, as assigned
Requirements
• Ability to read and accurately interpret receiving and shipping instructions.
• Capacity to formulate and standardize proper shipping/receiving order of operations.
• Ability to stand throughout shift.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds periodically.
• Willingness to learn.
Preferred:
• Forklift Certification
• Experience within hydraulic/pneumatic related fields
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Office hours average 40 per week; may require additional hours including evening and weekends depending on business needs.
• Work typical performed in an indoor shop environment.
Tools and Equipment Used
• Basic hand tools including but not limited to; allen wrenches, hammers, wrenches, angle grinders, power tools, and air tools.
• Basic knowledge of machining equipment, such as drill presses and chop saws
Travel
• Minimal- up to 10% of the time in instances such as Installations or picking up supplies.
Physical & Mental Demands
• Frequently required to stand for long periods of time.
• Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of shop equipment
• Heavy lifting and carrying of supplies, parts, etc.
• Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around a shop environment.
• Ability to analyze unique situations and develop appropriate response.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Additional Mental Requirements: compare, decide, direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, interpret.
