Purchasing Clerk
Job Description
The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for coordinating the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. Their duties include coordinating materials, resource availability, and monitoring the production process for efficiency. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating production and material resources.
- Expedite part shortages to support ongoing production.
- Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management.
- Thorough understanding of computerized systems pertaining to Order Entry, Bills of Material, Shop Floor Control, Master Production Planning, Inventory Control and Material Requirements Planning
- Promptly informing relevant departments of changes to the production schedule.
- Using analysis to anticipate necessary production changes.
- Knowledge of production processes and quality control.
- Participate as a team member in work, meetings and other functions such as transferring information to others, improving working relationships with co-workers contributing to team success.
- Maintain vendor pricing data.
- Comply with all Fluidyne Fluid Power employee conduct and policies contained in the Employee Handbook.
Education Requirements
- Associate degree in related field is preferred; GED or High School Diploma is a must.
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office applications.
- Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP, ERP) and related software.
Skill Requirements
- Advanced communication skills (verbal & written) and demonstrated active listening.
- Excel knowledge and demonstrated application of formulas & functions.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite software (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Attention to detail and ability to focus on task assignments to meet organizational goals.
- Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment, with all levels of staff.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong math, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, type, and read.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to pass criminal background checks, pre-placement health appraisals, and drug screening.
- Work environment regularly exposes employees to a light noise level (phone conversations).
