Real Estate Paralegal:
Preliminary drafting and review of real estate commercial loans and related documents.
Track critical contract dates, deadlines, and progress on contract-related tasks.
Support all aspects of commercial real estate loan transactions.
Organize and set up of commercial loan files, including review of all pertinent documents to include loan presentations, loan parties’ corporate documents to determine authority, and title documents; formulation and preparation of summary of items needed in order to complete loan documentation pursuant to structure presented; preparation of initial draft loan documentation; direct contact with lending officers, loan assistants, title companies, brokers and opposing counsel as necessary to prepare and complete loan documentation and effectuate closing; prepare closing checklists and closing instruction letters.
Coordinate with title companies and review settlement statements and other closing documents.
Prepare drafts of corporate resolutions, deeds, bills of sale and other closing documents.
Assist with entity formation and drafting resolutions, consents, certificates, and other corporate documentation as needed.
Draft, review, and proofread various legal documents.
Handle and monitor all files for deadlines; anticipate and address items to be completed prior to deadlines.
Manage day to day office tasks including establishing, maintaining and keeping paper and electronic files well-organized with ease of access, tracking billable hours and entering into billing software, general correspondence, direct contact with clients, management office, and all vendors, and ordering of supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires at least 5 years of in-house legal department experience or law-firm experience.
Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Word and Adobe Pro.
Ability to manage electronic file and recordkeeping system.
Ability to complete tasks on short notice under time constraints.
Excellent organizational, proofreading and communication skills; able to prioritize, multitask, and complete assignments in an efficient manner on a daily basis; able to work and think independently; able to recognize and use creative thinking to address issues and possible resolutions.
Proficient in electronic filing including county e-recording, state court filings, bankruptcy and federal court filings, Secretary of State business and UCC filings; proficient in online research of public records with regard to real property ownership interest, taxing authority issues, UCC and business formation information.
