The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence.
•Provides discipline expertise in the Marine Terminals Group.
•Prepares proposals, scopes of work, establishing budgets and schedules for marine terminal engineering services.
•Performs detailed structural analysis on marine terminal structures.
•Develops marine terminal layouts including port and harbor plans and berth arrangement.
•Reviews and approves 3rd party proposals, design calculations, drawings, and reports.
•Provides Lead Engineer support on projects.
•Provides procurement and subcontracting support for projects.
•Provides direction, mentoring, training, and technical advice to other engineers in the group.• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner•Registered Professional Engineer
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in structural or marine engineering
•Minimum 10 years of design experience in ports and marine terminals.
•Minimum 2 years as lead engineer on medium to large marine terminal design projects
•Familiar with PIANC, OCIMF, SIGTTO, API, DNV, USACE manuals, BS6349, and other marine engineering design codes and standards.
•Proficient user of SACS, RISA 3D and similar structural design tools.
•Capable of designing marine foundations (piled structures, sheet pile and quay structures).
•Ability to work effectively on multiple projects and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
