Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Education, the Education Programs Manager oversees the Flynn’s School Matinee Series and Flynn Classes and Camps. The Education Programs Manager is the primary contact for all current and potential students and their families and for Student Matinee customers. The Manager oversees all logistics related to Flynn classes and camps including managing and maintaining studio spaces; collaborating with Director to schedule programs; supervising teaching artists; managing payroll and other data and financial tracking. The Education Programs Manager oversees registration and seating for the School Matinee Series, providing customer service to schools, coordinating with Box Office and marketing teams, and coordinating with operations team to ensure high quality matinee programs. The Programs Manager supports the daily function of the Education program, working closely with the Education Director and other departments as required.


Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee Student Matinee Series registrations and attendance including fielding inquires; managing registrations in conjunction with Box Office; communicating scholarships and pre-show details to schools; communicating closely with operations team.
  • Oversee classes and camps program scheduling, registration, and communications.
  • Supervise teaching artists, including scheduling, contracts and hiring paperwork, onboarding, and payroll.
  • Supervise summer camp staff.
  • Maintain digital files including lesson plans, class evaluations, teaching artist roster, etc.
  • Coordinate final class and camp performances, working with production team and communicate with staff, students, and families.
  • Manage studios, maintaining supplies and ensuring welcoming learning environments.
  • Work with Marketing team to maintain accurate and up to date mailing lists and web content and collaborating to promote programs and increase enrollment.
  • Other duties as necessary


Supervision Exercised

Recruit and hire Education team members as needed; manage payroll as needed. Supervise Teaching Artists, interns, volunteers, and camp assistants.


Supervision Received

Supervision is received from the Director of Education.


Qualifications

  • 3-5 years relevant and effective work experience: art education experience preferred.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with ability to work independently, organize and coordinate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively on multiple projects
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Technologically proficient
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong interest in creating inclusive programs and educational opportunities in the performing arts
  • Enthusiasm for working with people of all ages. Patience and a sense of humor are a must!
