Ice Hockey Coach
Somerville Bulldogs - Veterans Memorial Rink - Somerville, MA
FMC Ice Sports is looking for Coaches for their New England Future Stars 2023 season. The New England Future Stars is a highly competitive and skills Spring/Summer program designed for youth hockey players (Squirt-High School) who compete at the highest level of play and want to improve their game in the off-season. The league includes both Girls and Boys teams.
This is a part-time/temporary (May - August) position.
Coach responsibilities include:
- Aid in the recruitment of players for tryouts, including attending tryouts, selecting team, roster assignment, etc.
- Secure and manage assistant coaches.
- Organize, plan and attend weekly practices and games.
- Prepare and deliver practices focused on skills development and team play.
- Help coordinate player payment and collection with our main office.
- Must complete SafeSport training prior to start (paid for and provided by FMC).
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching at high school level or above is required.
- Collegiate or Junior playing experience helpful.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to attract and retain high-level players.
- Experience in established programs.
- USA Hockey certified preferred, but not required.
