Assistant General Manager
The Assistant General manager assists the GM with day-to-day staff leadership and delivering an excellent guest experience. The ideal candidate will be professional in demeanor and appearance, have the ability to interact with guests positively, and be able to create an environment where employees love to work and guests love to be.
Duties and Responsibilities:
− Hire, train, supervise, evaluate and develop all staff.
− Ensure training and development of hotel staff to enable effective job performance, teamwork, motivation and clear communications. Ensure hotel staff compliance to assigned position performance standards.
− Ensure staff is fully trained in emergency procedures.
− Lead by example, providing guests excellent and efficient service.
− Monitor hotel performance to maximize revenue.
− Schedule staff according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy.
− Keep accurate records in personnel files for each department. Proper completion of all new hire paperwork and terminations.
− Accurately prepare, maintain and distribute staff payroll.
− Conduct or assist in conducting staff meetings.
− Resolve or assist in resolving guest complaints and employee issues.
− Respond to feedback on all Social Review sites and brand site.
− Accurately manage accounts receivables and all other accounting records as required.
− Perform public area inspections, inspect a minimum of 5 rooms
− Ensure all brand standards & policies are implemented.
− Remain current with brand standards, new procedures and required training.
− Able to cover shifts in all departments when needed.
− Maintain an active posture in total hotel operations.
− Ensure hotel supplies are ordered and stocked in advance of needs without over buying
− Professional business attire is required.
− Any other task or duty that is required by the hotel or the owners
− Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, with efficiency and under time constraints.
− Must be able to lift, push and pull 20 - 40 lbs. and carry up to 20 lbs.
− Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working in guest rooms.
− Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
− Follow directions thoroughly, able to supervise and delegate responsibilities with follow through.
− Excellent Customer Service skills
− Able to professionally write and communicate in English
− Able to organize, plan ahead and manage workload.
− Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
− Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
− Proficient in Microsoft programs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
