JOB DESCRIPTION: PARTS SPECIALIST

: BODY & EQUIPMENT PARTS


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying, locating and purchasing parts and materials requested for specific projects.
  • Identify, locate, and purchase parts and materials required for Workmate/Electric projects from approved vendors. Maintain an accurate and physical count of Workmate and Electric inventories in DMS software.
  • Purchase, monitor and maintain department and shop supply levels of nuts, bolts, wiring, supplies, lights, fasteners, etc. as instructed. Continually update body shop inventory physically and in DMS software system to retain minimum and maximum inventory requirements.
  • Assist in purchase and the pickup of parts for body shop jobs before and during the assembly process.
  • Must take physical inventory of all merchandise warehoused for Rugby. Responsible for reconciling of inventory counts with manufacturer and accounting records. Quarterly counts required.
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties; including loading & unloading bodies/equipment loads & shipments. Package shipments and arrange freight pick up. Keep accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Perform filing duties as needed.
  • Update repair orders for parts usage in DMS system.
  • Communicate clearly in all aspects of position to all customers in person, by phone, email, FAX and written correspondence.
  • Participate in special projects or assignments as needed or requested.
  • Assist and /or back up Managers with duties as assigned or requested.
  • Must follow safety procedures as instructed and follow common industry safety standards.


Education and/or Experience

3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft computer experience, keyboarding and phone skills.


Physical Demands

Must be able to climb ladders, climb in and out of large trucks, use forklifts, and other vehicles, as well as being able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse, and using phone.


Work Environment

The work environment is mostly in the B&E parts department, however, some time is spent outdoors. The shop is heated in the winter.
