Vice President of Operations
The Vice President of Operations plays a pivotal role in overseeing the rapid growth and overall success of our business. This role will be responsible for optimizing operational efficiency, ensuring quality control, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while managing a team of skilled professionals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategies to scale operations, drive profitability, and meet production targets during the significant expansion phase.
- Operational Oversight: Manage all aspects of the manufacturing process, including production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and cost control to meet growing demand.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards and procedures to uphold product excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performance operations team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Supply Chain Management: Optimize the supply chain, including vendor relationships, procurement, and logistics, to ensure timely material availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Efficiency Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements, automation, and lean methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and champion the continuous improvement initiative as outlined by senior leadership.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards, creating a safe work environment for all employees.
- Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage the operations budget, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, engineering, and finance, to align operations with overall business objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations and standards, ensuring full compliance in all manufacturing operations.
- Risk Management: Proactively assess and mitigate operational risks to maintain uninterrupted production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations management within the plastic injection molding or related manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of successfully scaling manufacturing operations and managing significant revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, quality control systems, and supply chain management.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Experience with ERP and manufacturing software systems is a plus.
