We are looking for a talented and analytically minded individual to join the team at our Goshen location as a Production Engineer. The Production Engineer serves as a key resource to Plant Leadership in spearheading the production schedule in the context of ensuring maximum optimization and utilization of CNC equipment. This role is a “master supporter” in the production process, responsible for giving the production floor the roadmap to use each day to complete on-time, high-quality, and efficient output.
Essential Functions:
Production Scheduling
Creates the master Teams/Excel production schedule, collaborating with the Plant Manager and Production Supervisors as needed for decision points on sequencing, and coordinates accordingly with Production Supervisors or Building Leads in each building once schedule is intact.
CNC Optimization
From the production schedule, creates the necessary optimization files for each day’s production, per the established process from Symix orders to CNC optimized files, and distributes accordingly to production.
Engagement and Retention
Participates in special projects and initiatives and provides general support to leaders as needed to increase overall engagement and retention across the organization and creatively contributes to a spirit of building morale and engagement across the organization
Qualifications:
- Must have progressively responsible manufacturing experience to include experience with production scheduling, experience with CNC equipment, and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles - Lean, 5S, Continuous Improvement, Quality Systems, Root Cause Analysis (5 Why), Standardized Work, etc.
- Must be competent at an advanced level with Microsoft suite products, most specifically Excel. Must be able to create documents and documentation with ease. Understanding of basic coding is helpful.
- Previous CAD experience preferred.
- High school degree required. Post-secondary education strongly preferred. In order to collaborate well with others on the team and see how their role is part of the bigger picture, a qualified individual must be hands-on, focused on continuous improvement, and self-motivated. They need to be organized and thorough. They should possess an analytical ability and desire to puzzle through to a solution that maximizes yield and efficiency.
