Registered Nurse (RN) or MA for a small Direct Primary Care Fam Med clinic in Andover

```Job Summary:```

I have a unique opportunity for you- to become a integral part of a small, "outside the box" family medicine office in Andover, KS. I am seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, driven and friendly Registered Nurse to join me in my DPC (Direct Primary Care) office. DPC is a cash pay based system -- where We don't deal with the headaches and hassles of insurance companies! Patients pay an affordable monthly fee and get direct access to me as their physician- appointment times are longer, no rushing, and level of satisfaction is much higher due to that one-on -one feeling patients experience in this system. My practice is very small- no more crazy hectic days filled with 25 patients- instead, I typically see 6-8 pts per day- thereby having time to do my best work for each person. You will have the opportunity to get to know the patients!

Other differences aside from the lighter day- I text directly with patients, and you will help to triage these messages as well. I also dispense medications out of my own pharmacy on-site, and you will be in charge of refills. I also draw blood myself on my patients for their labs, so this can be something you do as well. Finally, i am looking for someone to be as enthusiastic about DPC as I am, to help spread the word and to be able to field cold calls that might come in - aka be able to enthusiastically explain how the practice works to a stranger.

In summary, as a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital and direct role in all aspects of the functioning of the office, from administrative work, to charting, to patient care, to dispensing medications, to phone calls and texts with patients, to office organization. You will hopefully become my right hand wo(man)!

Hours are limited at first but as we grow I anticipate adding on to your hours as well.

```Duties:```

- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, (injections) performing treatments, (breathing treatments, cerumen irritgation) and monitoring vital signs.

Phlebotomy

Start IVs and administer infusions

Answer phones and text messages about patient needs, refill requests, triaging concerns and determining if in person visit is needed

Refill medications

Triage lab results and patient call backs with physician direction

Order office supplies

Light housekeeping (trash, vacuum)

Prior authorization paperwork (occasional)

Call specialist offices for coordination of care

Assist in minor procedures (lacerations, pelvic exams, cryotherapy, wound care)

- Conduct assessments and document patient information accurately

- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures

- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients

```Qualifications:```

- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas

- Proven experience in providing high-quality patient care

- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy

- Proficient in performing various nursing procedures such as IV insertion

- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
