Focus Event Space, a premier event venue specializing in nightlife, corporate events, and happy hours in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of bartending experience in upscale restaurants or similar settings, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of beverages, including cocktails, wines, and beers, according to established recipes and standards.
- Provide attentive and personalized service to guests, anticipating their needs and preferences.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar, including proper storage of ingredients, utensils, and glassware.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed, minimizing waste and ensuring efficient operation.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including proper handling of alcohol and compliance with sanitation guidelines.
- Process customer payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and credit transactions with integrity.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation of events and functions, including setup and breakdown of the bar area.
- Stay informed about current beverage trends and developments, continuously expanding knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of bartending experience in high-volume environments, preferably in 5-star restaurants or upscale bars.
- Extensive knowledge of beverage preparation techniques, cocktail recipes, and drink presentation.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to create memorable experiences for guests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitasking effectively and maintaining composure under pressure.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- TIPS certification or equivalent responsible beverage service training preferred.
